Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) Monitors Abandoned Housing Projects

Minister of Housing and Local Government, YB Zuraida Kamaruddin says the ministry will review and monitor abandoned housing projects in Malaysia.

In accordance to the Housing Development (Control And Licensing) Act 1966, Section 18A, action could be taken against developers on the abandoned projects within six months or past the period as stated within the Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA).

There are 257 cases of abandoned projects as of April 2018, 198 has been able to be cleared out. House buyers can be protected through a service in the Abandoned Projects Recovery section of the Department of National Housing.
