In the MIPFM conference 2018, Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah, Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government says that corruption has embedded itself into the very social fabric of the Malaysian culture that Malaysia baru has to remove like cutting cancer from the infected body.
He further highlighted that mismanagement that extracted millions from sinking fund and maintenance charges.
Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrin says “People assume paying service charges to a skilled and experienced profession but in many cases this may not be true.”
“Rogue developers and agents are acting unprofessionally and making money on the side by passing contracts to subsidiaries and friends.”
“Errand property manager who are found guilty in a particular local council may be still continuing practice in another local council.”
He mentioned that KPKT has been approached to form a registry to monitor these agents under the Strata Management Act.
